I suppose what counts as disturbing depends on the sort of person you are, so to me, with any amount of psychoanalytic assistance over the years, a dream about holding the Queen’s hand and saying a prayer for her has to be struggling to say something. The line – “keep all disturbing dreams away” – […]
Remember a dream that made you wonder if you were dreaming and write a poem about it.
You know that’s one way of showing love for your brothers and sisters. Tutorials have been popping up on Youtube lately on how to make fabric face masks and this is really very heartwarming. The pessimists in us will say that they’re only doing this to capitalize on a national emergency by selling masks and monetizing their videos, but I have to be honest with you, people wouldn’t go through the trouble of making these tutorials if they really didn’t have that spark of humanity in their hearts.
I watched two videos (and there are more videos out there I know), but the makers of these two videos did their research. They actually took the time to design filter pockets into their masks. That’s really awesome.
This lady says to use parchment paper.
I think this is fantastic for the people who can’t find n95 masks. There’s one thing that…

One night, a few days prior to a major event in my life, I had a clear, vivid dream. There was a table full of these glowing, royal blue crystals, half of which were on fire. As the fire spread, the ones left in the fires wake had turned a flaming orange color. Fire is […]
About five months ago, I had a dream so clear and precise that even now I can close my eyes and see the scene unfold before me in intricate detail.
It opened with me alone, clutching tightly a blue and white pottery shard I had found in my trip to Greece last year. It may be rather ancient. All of the sudden, my friend Lori appears next to me. We went to graduate school together, studying international relations at The Fletcher School. Lori went on to become a health economist, working globally as a consultant.
In my dream, she was with a few other public policy types: I didn’t recognize any others. Then the scene shifted suddenly, and they arrested someone who looked Middle Eastern or Asian. And they thanked me for helping them with the pottery shard, that went five levels deep. They had never been able to go…

“The acronym RAIN is an easy-to-remember tool for practicing mindfulness and compassion using the following four steps:
Recognize what is happening;
Allow the experience to be there, just as it is;
Investigate with interest and care;
Nurture with self-compassion.
You can take your time and explore RAIN as a stand-alone meditation or move through the steps whenever challenging feelings arise.”
— Tara Brach
R: The “R” in the R.A.I.N method stands for ‘Recognize.’
Take a moment to recognize that a strong emotion is present and gently turn towards what you’re experiencing in an open and non-judgemental way.
Tune in to the direct present moment experience of what is happening in your body and mind… the emotions, the thoughts and sensations that are here.
It can be helpful to mentally name it, for example, “I am feeling stressed” or “I am feeling overwhelmed.” This recognition of what…

I had more dreams that I had remembered and there was more to these dreams that I had remembered, but I did not record some of my dreams in time and the lucid dream was long and probably became a normal dream again at some point so some dreams are lost now and most of […]
The ones keeping emotions stirring…
Is it the thing on rails
Or the woman who sails,
On, leaving a dreamer’s heart yearning?
Too much of a klutz to build steam,
A scrap yard would think him a dream…
Of a certain design,
Would a dinky pull him without scream???
you said you had a dream we met;
a thing we just might do, one day.
though in my dream, it was at night…
a misty, rainy sort of night,
but in a well-lit city park
that kept the midnight far from dark,
and where i called you by your name,
and you embraced me as a friend,
and all the world was wet with tears
for things and places torn and gone,
for dreams that lawyers take away,
for hopes left up on doctor’s shelves,
and cold gray rooms that some romanticize —
but all of that, we didn’t say,
because we knew the other knew,
and lives are rooms behind locked doors,
though our words may be keys…
and then you spoke, although
your words were song;
the misty park dissolved
before too long,
and i awoke, not knowing what
but with your music

I had more dreams but I did not voice record them and I went back to sleep, and so now I barely remember part of one or two dreams but I am not sure if I was in this dream or these dreams or not but I do know that I was in one or more forgotten dreams.
All that I can remember of this dream or these dreams is that maybe one part involved some sisters, maybe there was some kind of relationship issues between the two sisters, and there was maybe something involving some girls who were either their daughters or them when they were younger; but that is all that I can remember of this part of the dream or this dream.
The next part of the dream or the next dream involved what seemed to be the cast members of The Defenders miniseries…
